Documenting a Decade of Professional and Human Rights Work

The Moroccan Forum for Young Journalists has released a document titled “The Forum’s Record: From Capacity Building to Creating Impact,” which chronicles its journey since inception. It highlights achievements in training, knowledge production, and advocacy for press freedom and human rights between 2017 and 2026.

Training Programs and Professional Debates

The report indicates that the Forum organized 49 training sessions, benefiting nearly 1,000 participants. Topics included freedom of expression, journalist protection, data journalism, digital safety, and combating disinformation. Furthermore, 36 consultation forums were held between 2018 and 2026, featuring seminars and workshops with journalists, academics, and institutional actors.

Knowledge Production and Advocacy

The Forum has produced 20 publications, including advocacy memos, professional guides, and field studies. The document notes the Forum’s shift toward evidence-based advocacy and institutional dialogue with Parliament and the Government regarding media sector reforms, including the National Press Council.

International Presence and Strategic Partnerships

The Forum has established a network of 20 national and international institutions. In 2025, the Forum was granted consultative status with UNESCO, crowning its cooperation in media literacy and digital security.

Future Outlook

Sami El Moudni, President of the Forum, stated that this record aims to distill lessons for the future, noting that the next phase will focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and professional ethics.
