In coordination with the DGST: Tiznit police thwart a plan to incite mass migration toward occupied Ceuta

As part of the ongoing efforts by security services to combat networks involved in organizing irregular migration, the judicial police in Tiznit arrested a 20-year-old man on Thursday. He is suspected of involvement in inciting and preparing clandestine migration operations toward the occupied city of Ceuta.

This security operation was based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), which enabled the identification of the suspect and the monitoring of his illicit activities before his arrest in the “Widadia Al-Mowadafine” neighborhood in Tiznit.

Recruitment methods via social media platforms

Preliminary investigation data indicate that the detainee managed virtual groups on social media to promote illegal migration trips, recruit young people, and assemble them in Tiznit with the intent of transporting them to the border regions in the far north of the Kingdom.

Security readiness against calls for collective storming

These proactive interventions come at a critical time, coinciding with the detection by competent authorities of anonymous calls on the internet inciting those wishing to migrate to gather and head collectively toward the Ceuta border to attempt a forced crossing this weekend.

The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation by the competent public prosecutor to determine all the criminal acts attributed to him and to identify any potential links to other entities involved in human trafficking.
