Discovery of a decomposed body in Ain Chkef forest puts authorities on high alert

Security alert in Ain Chkef forest
The forest area of Ain Chkef, in the province of Moulay Yacoub, was on high alert on Tuesday afternoon as the Royal Gendarmerie responded to the discovery of a human body in a state of advanced decomposition, causing shock and concern in the region.
Details of the incident and preliminary investigation
Available information suggests the body belongs to a man approximately thirty-five years of age. According to initial examinations at the scene, no clear signs of violence were observed; however, the advanced state of decomposition makes it difficult to determine the exact circumstances of death at this time.
Sources suggest the victim may have been a person experiencing homelessness, a possibility that is currently under investigation by specialized teams while awaiting the results of a forensic autopsy.
Legal procedures initiated
Upon receiving the report, Royal Gendarmerie patrols arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off, and the scientific and technical police began collecting fingerprints and forensic evidence to help solve the mystery of the death. The body has been transferred to the morgue at the Ghassani Hospital in Fez for a mandatory autopsy.
Meanwhile, the judicial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie in Moulay Yacoub, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, is continuing its intensive investigation to identify the deceased and trace his final movements. They are attempting to build a comprehensive picture of the circumstances, with all possibilities remaining open pending the results of medical and laboratory tests.
