Attempted drug smuggling thwarted at the border crossing
As part of the ongoing efforts by security services to combat cross-border crime, National Security personnel operating at the Beni Ensar border crossing managed, on October 4, in close coordination with customs services, to thwart a major smuggling operation involving a significant quantity of hashish.
Suspect arrested and light vehicle seized
This joint security operation, according to available data, resulted in the arrest of a Moroccan citizen residing abroad who was traveling in a light vehicle with foreign license plates. Thorough inspections led to the detection and seizure of the smuggled drug shipment.
Continuing judicial investigations
The suspect has been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all potential links to these criminal activities and to identify other possible accomplices in this cross-border network, with the aim of bringing all parties to justice.
