Residents of Bin El Qashali in Marrakech call on the Chief of Police to stop drug trafficking and assaults

Rising complaints regarding black spots in the Guéliz district

Residents of the Bin El Qashali neighborhood and the Zitoun neighborhood, under the Guéliz district in Marrakech, are living in increasing anxiety due to what they describe as a rise in criminal incidents in the recent period. Numerous residents confirmed that these areas have become black spots that disturb their peace, especially near the railway tracks and in alleys that are difficult for strangers to access, particularly at sensitive times of the day.

Demands for strengthening security campaigns and social programs for youth

Given this situation, many voices from the population have turned to social media to highlight this issue, demanding the establishment of security and the maintenance of order in the aforementioned spots. These voices attribute the origin of the phenomenon to the decline in security campaigns in those areas, as well as the absence of social programs targeting unemployed youth, which has contributed to some of them becoming involved in criminal acts.

Appeal addressed to the Chief of Police of Marrakech

In a related context, the local population has issued a direct appeal to the Chief of Police of Marrakech, Mohamed Amchichou, calling for urgent intervention and an intensification of patrols and security campaigns in the region. These demands come against the backdrop of some parts of the area turning into black spots dedicated to the trafficking of all forms and types of drugs, which has led to a rise in crime rates among youth and has negatively affected the stability of daily activities in the affected territorial areas.
