Precise security operation leads to the arrest of a drug dealer in Dakhla
The anti-gang squad of the Dakhla Police Prefecture successfully dealt a new blow to drug trafficking networks in the city mid-week, arresting a 43-year-old man suspected of possession and trafficking of significant quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Details of the seizures and the operation
The case began when security personnel caught the suspect in the act of possessing a quantity of cannabis resin (chira) while traveling on his motorcycle. Expanding the scope of the investigation, security teams conducted a thorough search of the suspect’s residence and another house under construction, resulting in the seizure of quantities described by the security source as significant:
Seized items:
- Approximately 9.5 kilograms of cannabis resin (chira).
- 870 hallucinogenic tablets of “Ecstasy” and “Rivotril” types.
- 40 grams of cocaine.
- Two bladed weapons and a significant amount of cash, believed to be proceeds from this criminal activity.

Acting on instructions from the competent public prosecutor’s office, the suspect has been placed in police custody for a deep judicial investigation.
