Judicial action in Fez following allegations of ‘sexual abuse’ and ‘assault’
The Crown Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Fez has ordered the judicial police to open a thorough and detailed judicial investigation following the circulation of a video containing serious allegations made by two minor sisters (13 and 9 years old).
Details of the allegations against the stepfather
According to available information, the minors directly accused their mother’s husband, who resides in Fez. In their statements in the video, the sisters reported suffering from repeated sexual abuse, as well as physical violence.
One of the minors went further, describing acts she called “serious” against her sister, including attempts to burn her and violent silencing tactics. The allegations also include their minor brother, who one of the sisters claimed was also sexually abused and beaten repeatedly by the same individual.
Investigation and legal procedures
Upon learning of the gravity of these statements, the Public Prosecution in Fez initiated legal procedures and entrusted the case to the competent judicial police. This investigation aims to:
- Verify the truthfulness and credibility of the allegations made in the video.
- Hear all involved parties in full compliance with legal procedures.
- Ensure the necessary protection for the children involved in accordance with applicable laws.
- Determine the circumstances surrounding the acts attributed to the suspect.
The phase of interviewing the minor children will be a fundamental pillar of the ongoing judicial investigation to gather evidence that will reveal the truth of the alleged facts and determine the legal responsibilities of the suspect.
