Royal Humanitarian Initiative: 634 people receive royal pardon for Eid Al-Mawlid

In commemoration of the Eid Al-Mawlid Annabawi, King Mohammed VI has issued a royal pardon to a group of individuals convicted by various courts across the Kingdom, in a humanitarian gesture reflecting values of compassion and mercy.
Details of the beneficiaries
According to the Ministry of Justice, the total number of beneficiaries is 634 people, distributed between those in detention and those at liberty. Among the 462 inmates, 13 received a pardon for the remainder of their prison terms, while 449 were granted a sentence reduction. Regarding the 157 individuals at liberty, the pardon included the cancellation of prison sentences or fines.
Initiative for extremism-related inmates
As part of a reconciliation policy, the King granted a royal pardon to 15 individuals convicted of extremism and terrorism cases, following their official renunciation of extremist ideology and affirmation of loyalty to the nation’s values. This initiative reflects the King’s commitment to social reintegration and the promotion of tolerance.
