Moulay Abdallah Amghar Festival: Security Campaign Seizes Quantities of Spoiled Food

Protecting Visitor Health is Top Priority for Royal Gendarmerie in El Jadida
In a proactive step to ensure the safety of thousands of visitors arriving for the Moulay Abdallah Amghar festival, the Royal Gendarmerie’s environmental center in El Jadida launched a large-scale inspection campaign on Friday. The operation targeted commercial shops and informal restaurants operating alongside the festival’s major events.
These precise field operations resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of meat and food items that did not meet health safety conditions or established standards. These items were intended for direct consumption by festival visitors, posing a real threat to public health.
Details of Food Seizures
Field data indicated that the seized materials included various types of consumer products, most notably 2.5 kilograms of chicken meat and 19 kilograms of fat (tallow), along with other quantities of unmonitored food items prepared in conditions lacking minimum refrigeration and hygiene standards.
These intensive interventions are part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie during the festival season to block anyone attempting to exploit large human gatherings to distribute spoiled or unknown-source food. The seized items were destroyed according to legal procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
Intensified Monitoring for a Safe Season
This operation confirms the authorities’ commitment to strictly enforcing the law, especially as the Moulay Abdallah Amghar festival sees an exceptional influx of visitors from across the Kingdom. The campaign was widely welcomed by citizens, who called for the continuation of these monitoring patrols throughout the festival to ensure the event passes in a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
