Two cars fall into Mghogha Wadi in Tangier

Heavy rainfall causes traffic accidents in Tangier

The city of Tangier witnessed an unprecedented incident on Friday evening, coinciding with the significant rainfall in the region. The Mghogha Wadi turned into a danger zone after two cars fell into its watercourse one after another within a short period.

Details of the incident at Mghogha Wadi

According to field data, the incident began when a taxi driver lost control of his vehicle due to the road being slippery from the rainfall, causing it to suddenly veer off course and fall directly into the Mghogha Wadi watercourse.

Just minutes after this first incident, the same location saw a similar accident when a 4×4 vehicle skidded off the road and also landed in the watercourse, prompting an immediate mobilization of rescue services and local authorities who arrived at the scene to assess the damage and secure traffic in the area.

Warnings regarding the consequences of weather fluctuations

These accidents highlight once again the dangers of driving in rainy conditions, especially in areas lacking sufficient protective barriers alongside wadis. The incident left bystanders and local residents in shock, amid calls for extreme caution and adherence to speed limits during rainfall to avoid a recurrence of such serious accidents that threaten the safety of road users.
