Illegal distillation laboratory dismantled in Biougra

As part of their ongoing efforts to dry up the sources of crime and combat the sale of unlicensed alcoholic beverages, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Biougra, affiliated with the Chtouka Aït Baha brigade, conducted a targeted raid on a secret factory dedicated to the manufacture and distribution of illicit “Mahia” spirits.

Details of the security operation in the Wadi Al-Safa commune

Field data indicates that the operation focused on one of the villages in the Wadi Al-Safa commune, where suspicious activity was monitored that indicated the site was being used as a hub for producing “Mahia.” This raid resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of the aforementioned spirit, as well as equipment and tools used in the illegal distillation processes.

Search underway for the primary suspect

Although the gendarmerie units succeeded in securing the factory and the seized materials, the primary suspect managing this activity managed to flee to an unknown destination, taking advantage of the rugged terrain and the conditions surrounding the site to evade the security forces.

The Royal Gendarmerie services, under the direct instructions of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, have launched an in-depth judicial investigation to uncover all aspects of this case and identify those involved. Meanwhile, intensive field investigations are continuing in order to apprehend the fugitive suspect and bring him to justice to face the charges against him, in accordance with the laws in force in the Kingdom.
