A final farewell to security official Zitouni El Hail in Marrakech
In a solemn display of respect, the city of Marrakech bid farewell this Friday to Wali Zitouni El Hail, former Director of Public Security at the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN), following a distinguished career of service to the nation.
Funeral proceedings
The funeral rites commenced after the Asr prayer at the Aisha Oum Al-Mouminine mosque in the Targa district, where mourners performed the funeral prayer. The body was then carried in a procession to the Sidi Chafai cemetery on the Souihla road, where he was laid to rest amidst an atmosphere of sadness and profound gratitude for his lifetime of service.
High-level official and security presence
The burial ceremony was attended by an elite group of security and administrative officials, led by Mohamed Dkhissi, Director of the Judicial Police at the DGSN, alongside the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, Khatib El Hebil, and the Prefect of Police of Marrakech, Mohamed Amchichou. Numerous civil and military figures, as well as the deceased’s family members and professional colleagues, were present to offer their condolences.
A career dedicated to national service
The late Zitouni El Hail was known for his exemplary professional journey within the national security establishment, where he held various sensitive leadership positions with great devotion. He was recognized for his wisdom and efficiency, particularly during his tenure as head of the Marrakech Police Prefecture, before being appointed Director of Public Security at the DGSN—a position he held until his passing.
