Major development project changes the face of Bouqlal Street in Taza

The city of Taza is awaiting the completion of one of its most prominent urban infrastructure projects, as work on the Bouqlal Street development enters its final stages. This important project is part of Taza’s urban development program, implemented through a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and the Taza Municipality.
This essential development workshop aims to rehabilitate the old city (medina), connect it to its surroundings, and restore the city’s historical walls, continuing the development dynamic that Taza is currently experiencing.
The execution of the Bouqlal Street development works has been assigned to the National Agency for Public Equipment (ANEP), with a total financial cost of 15.53 million dirhams. The project extends for 900 meters, from the Royal Gendarmerie roundabout to the Bab Jemaa space.
Main components of the development project:
The project includes an integrated package of urban and environmental interventions, most notably:
– Improvement of sidewalks and urban furniture.
– Tree planting and the creation of new green spaces.
– Enhancement of modern public lighting.
– Paving with hot asphalt to ensure quality and smooth traffic flow.
– Restoration of the historical walls surrounding the site.
– Rehabilitation and improvement of various networks.
In terms of traffic and logistics, technical data indicates that the development of Bouqlal Street will contribute significantly to strengthening the road connection between the upper city of Taza and the surrounding neighborhoods. It is also expected to play a vital role in relieving the heavy traffic pressure usually experienced on 3rd March Street, which will positively reflect on the fluidity of movement within the city.
