Security intervention by the Royal Gendarmerie in the outskirts of Meknes

As part of the ongoing efforts to combat crime in all its forms, particularly the illicit drug trade, agents of the Royal Gendarmerie in Meknes carried out a successful field operation last Friday, leading to the arrest of three individuals.

The operation took place in the commune of Dar Oum Soltane, on the outskirts of the city, where the suspects are believed to have been involved in the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.

Seizure of drugs, cash, and other items

The operation, conducted in accordance with standard legal procedures, resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of chira (cannabis resin) prepared for distribution, as well as a sum of money suspected to be the proceeds of this illegal activity.

Several mobile phones were also seized, which are believed to have been used to coordinate with customers and facilitate the illegal distribution of these substances.

Legal proceedings against the detainees

Following the developments in the case, the suspects have been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The ongoing judicial investigation aims to uncover all potential connections to this network and to identify other suspected accomplices.
