Massive smuggling operation thwarted by security vigilance

As part of the ongoing efforts by security services to combat organized crime and international drug trafficking networks, elements of the Regional Brigade of the Judicial Police in Fez, in close field coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), succeeded in the early hours of Saturday, October 10, in thwarting a major attempt to smuggle hashish.

Operation results: Four tons and one hundred kilograms seized

This successful security operation resulted in the seizure of a record quantity of four tons and 100 kilograms of hashish. These data confirm the scale of the challenge faced by criminal networks in light of the continuous security tightening at the Kingdom’s various borders, thwarting a criminal plot that aimed at the international trafficking of these illicit substances.

Suspects arrested and judicial investigation opened

In the same context, field interventions carried out in this case led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of having direct links to this criminal network active in the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. The suspects have been placed under judicial investigation conducted by the Regional Brigade of the Judicial Police under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to reveal all potential extensions of this network and arrest any other parties involved in this criminal activity.
