Escalation by those affected by the ‘Azhar’ Housing Association in Oujda amid urgent demands for refunds

Protest in front of the Oujda Courthouse
The perimeter of the Oujda Courthouse witnessed, on the morning of Thursday, October 8, the second protest organized by families affected by the “Azhar Housing Association” project, a move reflecting the extent of the ongoing tension and anger among the supposed beneficiaries.
The protest saw the participation of dozens of aggrieved citizens, alongside a significant presence of human rights and civil society activists who declared their absolute solidarity with the protesters’ demands and their support for their struggle.
Background of the protest and path to reclaiming rights
This new action comes within a series of field protests, in addition to the consistent pursuit of available institutional and legal procedures. This escalation is driven by the severe financial losses incurred by participants in the housing project, compelling them to take to the streets to demand urgent intervention and the recovery of their misappropriated funds.
