Tragedy in Beni Mellal: Elderly woman dies in massive fire

An elderly woman lost her life this Sunday morning following a massive fire that broke out in the “Ras El Ain” area, near the “Dar Debbagh” neighborhood in the city of Beni Mellal. The incident triggered a significant state of alert among local authorities and security forces in the region.

Civil Defense intervention and presence of the Wali

Immediately after being notified, Civil Defense teams and local authorities arrived at the scene, where firefighting units conducted rapid interventions to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring districts, especially since the area is densely forested due to its proximity to Ain Asserdoun and Ain Tamkanount. In this context, the Wali of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, Mohamed Benribak, attended the site of the fire to closely monitor the extinguishing operations.

Judicial investigation to determine causes

The victim’s body has been transferred to the morgue, while security services have opened an urgent judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident and reveal the real causes behind the outbreak of this massive fire.
