Police officer arrested over suspected involvement in serious sexual assault

Judicial inquiry launched under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Marrakech

To investigate the circumstances of a serious incident, the prefecture of the judicial police in Marrakech launched a comprehensive judicial inquiry on Monday, September 28, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor. The goal is to verify evidence concerning a police officer holding the rank of “brigadier,” who is suspected of involvement in criminal acts, including allegations of rape and sexual assault.

Woman’s complaint leads to the arrest of the suspect

According to initial reports, the case began after a woman filed a formal complaint with security services, stating that she had been sexually assaulted by an individual posing as a police officer, who claimed to have caught her in the company of another person. Field and technical investigations led to the swift identification and arrest of the suspect.

Police custody and firm administrative action

The detained police officer has been placed in custody to facilitate the judicial investigation and ensure legal accountability. Parallel to the judicial proceedings, the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) has reacted swiftly to these developments, with the Director General issuing a decision for the temporary suspension from duty of the suspect, pending the results of the investigation and any subsequent disciplinary or administrative actions required by law.
