Diplomatic realities.. Why does the Algerian regime choose hostility toward Morocco while ignoring 44 African countries?

Double standards.. When Morocco becomes the sole target
At a time when African nations are racing to build strategic alliances to serve their national interests, the Algerian regime stands out for its contradictory political rhetoric. While 44 out of 54 African countries maintain normal diplomatic relations with Israel, this regime insists on turning the relationship between Rabat and Tel Aviv into a political “bogeyman” in a desperate attempt to distract from its own internal crises and regional failures.
Ethiopia as an example.. When “principles” vanish and “targeting” takes over
Observers of international relations in Africa will find that Ethiopia, which hosts the African Union headquarters, maintains open and stable relations with Israel. What is surprising is not the existence of these relations, but the deafening silence of the Algerian regime toward Ethiopia and other African nations adopting the same approach, while simultaneously waging fierce media and diplomatic campaigns against Morocco. This behavior proves beyond doubt that Israel is merely a pretext used by the Algerian regime to attack Morocco, while such sensitivity is completely absent when dealing with other allies of Algeria.
Why does the Algerian regime focus on Morocco?
Experts and political analysts confirm that the real problem faced by the Algerian regime is not with Israel as an entity, but is an “existential” struggle against the Kingdom of Morocco. The diplomatic and developmental successes achieved by Morocco on both African and international levels, and its ability to assert its sovereignty, constitute a nightmare for the Algerian regime, which sees Morocco’s stability and development as a threat to its hostile narrative. Therefore, targeting Rabat under the banner of “rejecting normalization” is a fragile defensive mechanism aimed at:
First: Covering up the Algerian regime’s failure to achieve any diplomatic breakthroughs comparable to Morocco’s.
Second: Attempting to steer domestic public opinion toward a fake “external enemy” to bypass popular demands for reform.
Conclusion: A struggle for influence, not a struggle of principles
The Algerian regime’s insistence on accusing Morocco while completely ignoring the reality of 44 other African countries reflects an obvious double standard. African nations, including Ethiopia, still maintain good relations with Algeria despite their ties with Israel, confirming that Algeria is capable of coexisting with “normalization” as long as it does not involve Morocco. It is a proven fact: Algeria’s battle is with Morocco, and it has nothing to do with the values or principles the regime’s mouthpieces proclaim at every opportunity.
