Moroccan Ministry of Religious Affairs issues unified Friday sermon on the virtues and etiquette of prayer

Unified sermon distributed to the Kingdom’s mosques
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs distributed a unified Friday sermon today to all imams and preachers in the mosques of the Kingdom of Morocco. The chosen theme focuses on the virtues of Friday prayer and its major etiquette, as part of the ongoing religious guidance and oversight within the Kingdom.
The greatness and status of Friday
The first part of the sermon addresses the greatness of Friday and its status before God, citing texts from the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah. It points out that God has distinguished the Muslim nation with this great day, which contains an hour of answered prayers, and emphasizes the importance of arriving early to the mosque to receive the great rewards witnessed by the angels.
Prayer etiquette and virtuous conduct
In the second part, the Ministry focuses on the necessity of adhering to the religious etiquette associated with Friday, including performing the ritual bath (ghusl), wearing clean clothes, using perfume, and entering the mosque with dignity and tranquility. It also reminds worshippers of the importance of grasping the sermon’s contents and acting upon its guidance, aimed at building a cohesive society governed by values of brotherhood and virtue, and adhering to the religious and national constants of the Kingdom under the patronage of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
