Administrative court closes the door on the ‘RNI’ women’s list in Fès-Meknès

End of the road for the ‘RNI’ women’s list in Fès-Meknès
The National Rally of Independents (RNI) party has suffered a major electoral blow in the Fès-Meknès region after the Administrative Court of Fès issued a ruling permanently disqualifying its women’s list. This decision puts an end to the party’s desperate attempts to secure its place in the upcoming election race, amid widespread attention on the local political scene.
Sequence of events: from conviction to missed deadlines
The roots of this crisis lie in the authorities’ initial rejection of the party’s list, due to the presence of a candidate with a prior judicial conviction, which undermined the legal validity of the file. Seeking to rectify the situation, the party prepared a new list with name changes, but this effort failed as the second attempt coincided with the expiry of the legal deadlines for submitting nominations to the competent authorities.
Legal recourse: a final attempt that failed
The party did not give up, pursuing an urgent appeal before the administrative court in a last-ditch effort to re-enter the electoral race. However, the ruling of the Fès Administrative Court, issued under number 07, settled the dispute definitively; the request was accepted in form, but rejected on the merits, with a requirement to formally notify the plaintiff and the Wali of the Fès-Meknès region.
Thus, the RNI party finds itself out of the competition regarding the women’s list in the region, as a result of a failure to meet legal standards for candidates and failure to respect the legal timing for filing, placing the party’s regional leadership in a critical position before its electoral base.
