Soufiane El Bakkali ends his sports season with an inspiring message to his fans

The Moroccan world and Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion, Soufiane El Bakkali, has brought his current sports season to a close, announcing a mandatory rest period to recover physically following his final appearance at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels.
Reviewing the sports results
In a poignant post on social media, El Bakkali expressed his complete satisfaction with his overall season, which he described as “exceptional,” especially noting the strong start at the Rabat meeting, where the support of the Moroccan fans remains a cherished memory.
Physical challenges vs. ambition
The Moroccan champion explained that the path was not without its hurdles, particularly in the final weeks, which saw a noticeable drop in his physical readiness. El Bakkali noted that he faced difficult situations where cumulative fatigue forced his body to send warning signs, stating: “The mind wants, but the body has another opinion.”
Second place in the Diamond League
This statement follows his participation in the Diamond League final, where El Bakkali finished in second place with a time of 8 minutes, 10 seconds, and 03 hundredths, behind Ethiopian runner Getnet Wale. Despite not taking first place, El Bakkali emphasized that he gave everything he had until the final moments of the race.
Message of thanks and future promises
El Bakkali thanked those who supported him throughout the season, including fans and his technical and coaching staff, acknowledging their collective efforts in his successes. He ended his message with an optimistic tone: “Now we rest… then we come back stronger. The story continues, Dima Maghrib,” reflecting his unwavering determination to continue claiming titles and dominating long-distance events in the future.
