Security forces in Tangier deal a heavy blow to unlicensed alcohol distribution networks in Boukhalef

As part of their ongoing efforts to rid the neighborhoods of Tangier of crime and illicit trade, elements of the 12th Police District arrested an individual today with a criminal record, on suspicion of involvement in the unlicensed distribution of alcoholic beverages.

According to available information, this field intervention in the Al Irfane 2 neighborhood, within the Boukhalef zone of Tangier, followed precise investigative work that allowed security services to monitor the suspect’s movements and pinpoint his illicit operation.

The successful security operation, which included raiding the suspect’s home and searching his personal vehicle, resulted in the seizure of approximately 765 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various types and sizes, which were prepared for illicit sale without the required permits.

Ongoing legal proceedings

The suspect has been placed in custody pending a judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at uncovering all potential extensions of this criminal activity and identifying all parties involved, pending his appearance before the court.
