Major security alert in Berrechid province after state engineer’s body found in deep well in Lakhyayta

The Lakhyayta region, located under the jurisdiction of the Sahel Oulad Hriz commune in the Berrechid province, experienced a state of intense security alert this Saturday morning, October 10, among the Royal Gendarmerie and relevant authorities.

This large-scale security deployment followed reports of the discovery of a lifeless body inside a deep well of approximately 80 meters, which necessitated the presence of local authorities and Civil Protection services to handle the complex situation.

According to preliminary information circulating regarding the incident, current estimates suggest that the deceased was employed as a state engineer, pending the results of official investigations and the medical autopsy.

The Royal Gendarmerie, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, has launched a comprehensive judicial investigation to uncover the background and true circumstances behind this tragic incident and to determine whether it was a sudden accident or a suspected criminal act.
