Parental complaint in Nador against a teacher who forced a student to clean toilets

Official complaint submitted to the Regional Director of Education in Nador
The Ouled Mhand school annex, part of the Lahdara school group in the commune of Arkman (Nador province), has faced significant scrutiny after a parent of a fifth-grade student decided to file an official complaint with the office of the Regional Director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
According to the information provided in the complaint, the dispute stems from accusations against the Arabic language teacher, who allegedly repeatedly assigned the child the task of cleaning the toilets. According to the same sources, he even coerced her into using harsh chemicals such as bleach, an act the father considers a flagrant violation of the institution’s educational and ethical mission.
Deep psychological impact and fear of attending school
The parent reported in the document that these practices have created deep psychological trauma for his daughter, who now suffers from hysterical seizures and wakes up terrified throughout the night, exhibiting intense fear of entering the school premises. The father also noted that the child leaves the school in a very distressed state, which has been observed by several teachers and students.
The complainant stated that this behavior was a retaliatory act after he had previously criticized the staff for the absence of a cleaning assistant at the school. The criticism allegedly turned into a reaction targeting the student, depriving her of participating in class and school activities, which the father described as a clear abuse of authority.
Demand for investigation and protection of child rights
In the conclusion of the complaint submitted to the competent authorities, the parent requested that a serious and impartial administrative investigation be opened, and that a fact-finding committee be dispatched to verify these actions. He also demanded that all urgent measures be taken to protect the student psychologically and educationally, and that all available administrative and legal avenues be pursued to ensure the protection of children’s rights and to combat all forms of violence in the school environment.
