In a move to strengthen national defense industries, the Kingdom is moving towards establishing foundations for the manufacture of advanced attack drones, based on data announced by the French company «Harmattan AI».

Strategic Partnership to Develop Defense Industries

According to data provided by the French company, an agreement has been signed with the Moroccan National Defense Administration to develop and produce drones within national territory. This move is an extension of a previous agreement announced in June 2026 to enhance manufacturing capabilities and launch research and development activities.

Technical Specifications and Long-Range Strikes

The same data clarified that the planned system goes beyond traditional reconnaissance missions; it is designed to carry out long-range strikes, with a range reaching approximately 2,000 kilometers, reflecting an advanced level of military planning and drone technology.

Factory Near Casablanca and Reliance on Local Talent

Regarding the industrial aspect, an area near Casablanca will host the upcoming factory to produce this system. The company confirmed that the project aims to manufacture the drones entirely in Morocco, rather than just assembling imported components.

Essential technological components will also be developed and produced locally, relying primarily on Moroccan expertise and human resources, with the goal of building sustainable national capabilities in the advanced defense industry sector, at a time when the company has already begun the process of hiring engineers in Rabat.
