Tebboune uses satirical poetry to attack the UAE amid widespread criticism of his foreign policy

In a move reflecting the magnitude of accumulated diplomatic crises, the Algerian regime has continued to direct accusations and offensive language against the United Arab Emirates, attempting to export its acute internal crises abroad by inventing imaginary enmities and escalatory positions that do not serve regional stability.

Diplomatic rift and flimsy justifications

The president of the Algerian regime, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his periodic meeting with the local press, affirmed that the decision to cut ties with the Emirates was taken after reaching a breaking point, emphasizing that it is «irreversible». Tebboune resorted to using satirical poetry in an attempt to justify this tension, disregarding the history of cooperation and adopting a policy of escaping forward to cover up the ongoing failures in managing the country’s foreign and domestic affairs.

Interventions in the Sahel and military involvement

In the context of regional security, the Algerian regime admitted to sending military aircraft to Niger, a move interpreted by observers as an attempt to impose regional hegemony and fuel tensions rather than contribute effectively to development and stability. Despite Tebboune’s attempts to deny any change in military doctrine, recent constitutional amendments allowing military participation outside borders confirm the Algerian regime’s inclination toward foreign military adventures to distract the local public opinion from worsening social and economic crises.

Internal chaos and suffocating social crises

Internally, the Algerian regime attempted to embellish national economic indicators and present optimistic figures on growth rates and foreign exchange reserves, in an attempt to ignore widespread criticism of its economic policies. However, the living reality of the Algerian citizen proves otherwise, especially with the sky-rocketing prices of basic goods and the erosion of purchasing power, amid a clear governmental failure to protect vulnerable social classes and confront the monopoly and speculation networks that plague the local market.
