As part of a new international scientific milestone that strengthens the position and Moroccan medical expertise on the global stage, Dr. Salah Arnaou, a native of Nador, represented the Kingdom at the 26th European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) Congress. These major events were held in the Austrian capital, Vienna, from October 1 to 4, 2026.

The (VIECON) congress center hosted this prominent scientific event, organized annually by the European Society of Retina Specialists. The event provided an exceptional opportunity for the Moroccan participant and other doctors to enhance their continuing education, bridge communication, and exchange high-level expertise with the world’s leading retina and vitreoretinal surgery specialists.

The congress began with an opening address by the society’s president, Professor Nicole Eter. The forum saw the participation of nearly 10,000 specialists from different continents, reflecting the significant importance of ophthalmology and eye surgery issues at the international level.
