Intense political movements in Rabat: Driss Lachgar meets PAM leadership to discuss future government alliances

Government formation consultations: Meeting between Lachgar and Mansouri in Rabat

As part of ongoing political movements aimed at defining the features of the next phase and arranging alliances for the formation of the government, Driss Lachgar, First Secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), visited the headquarters of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in Rabat this Monday evening.

According to available information, Lachgar held a meeting with Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, Secretary-General of the PAM, in the context of the second round of government formation consultations.

Discussing political developments and defining alliances

During the meeting, the latest developments in the ongoing consultations between the two parties were discussed, before the First Secretary of the USFP left the PAM headquarters at the end of the talks.

The USFP’s participation in these political consultations follows its success in securing 26 seats in the recent elections, making it a prominent player in the ongoing discussions regarding the future government majority.

Widening the circle of political meetings for the PAM

In the same context, it is worth noting that Fatima-Zahra Mansouri had previously received Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah, Secretary-General of the Progress and Socialism Party (PPS), earlier that same morning as part of the same consultation process.

These consecutive meetings reflect the widening circle of political consultations led by the PAM leadership with various party stakeholders regarding the arrangements for the next political phase in Morocco.
