The Algerian Regime: Virtual Heroism, Geopolitical Dreams, and Individual Failure

From Empty Slogans to the Shock of Algerian Reality

We regularly witness surreal scenes that reflect the stark contrast between populist rhetoric and the bitter daily reality experienced by citizens under the Algerian regime. Looking at the situation of the so-called “Zawali” (the needy), we find a personality soaring in distant virtual worlds while their feet are mired in the mud of social crises and extreme poverty, the result of mismanagement.

According to an analytical article by Belkacem Chaib in “Algerie Times,” the ambitions of this citizen are reduced to grand slogans that far exceed their personal capabilities—such as the liberation of Palestine or intervention in regional conflicts—all while forgetting that the basic foundations for a dignified life have been destroyed by the policies of an Algerian regime focused on manufacturing illusions.

Virtual Heroism and Fleeing National Duties

The most painful paradox is revealed when moving from enthusiastic slogans to the test of reality: this “imaginary fighter,” theoretically prepared to wage wars of liberation, is often the first to seek ways to evade compulsory military service.

In terms of work and productivity, the same individual shows absolute dependence, becoming a burden on his family while spending his time in cafes instead of seeking an education or a trade. All of this happens under the eyes of the Algerian regime, which has hollowed out institutions and frozen the energy of the youth in submissiveness.

Capitulation and the Inner Struggle

The analysis indicates that those who practice “theoretical jihad” across borders live in their own homes in a state of total capitulation in the face of the absence of basic civil rights; they do not even dare to whisper an objection to how national wealth is squandered.

True change must begin with the struggle against oneself, liberation from dependence, and holding the unjust ruler accountable before raising slogans about liberating occupied lands. Great causes cannot be won by hands that flee from their duties and are incapable of supporting their own daily affairs.
