Four dead and several injured in a fatal traffic accident on the Guercif-Taourirt road

Roads of death continue to claim lives in Eastern Morocco
While efforts to modernize road infrastructure and enhance traffic safety continue, traffic accidents persist in claiming the lives of innocent citizens. On Thursday night into Friday, the National Road No. 6, connecting the provinces of Guercif and Taourirt, witnessed a serious and tragic traffic accident that claimed the lives of four people, highlighting the ongoing debate regarding road safety.
Details of the horrific triple collision
According to reports from the scene, the fatal accident resulted from a direct collision between a second-class taxi, a light vehicle, and a bicycle. This collision resulted in the immediate death of four people, in addition to three others who sustained varying degrees of injuries requiring urgent medical intervention.
Field intervention and emergency response
Upon receiving notification of the tragedy, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection rushed to the scene. First aid was provided to the injured before they were swiftly transported to the Provincial Hospital of Guercif for necessary treatment. The victims’ bodies were taken to the hospital morgue, while a judicial investigation is currently underway under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor to determine the circumstances of the accident.
