El Kelaa des Sraghna Gendarmerie arrests two minors who confessed to murder in Fraita

Members of the Royal Gendarmerie’s judicial center in El Kelaa des Sraghna arrested two minors yesterday evening on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a man in his forties, which occurred on Monday, September 27, near the weekly market in the municipality of Fraita.

The arrest of the two minors, who confessed to attacking the victim during an alcohol-fueled gathering, followed intelligence gathered by investigators during the preliminary inquiry. Six other individuals were questioned and subsequently released, while the two minors remained in custody.

Initial investigation findings suggest the suspects became involved in a random dispute with the victim while drinking, leading to a violent physical assault that resulted in the victim’s death.

The two minors, aged 15 and 16, have been placed under judicial supervision while the investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office, continues. They are awaiting appearance before the King’s General Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech to determine further legal action.
