Launch of the ‘Amanar’ professional platform to support young film talent at the Marrakech Short Film Festival

In a move aimed at strengthening the professional infrastructure of the film sector, the Marrakech Short Film Festival is launching the “Amanar” professional platform. According to the organizers, this initiative focuses on providing the professional bridges and mechanisms needed by young filmmakers, moving beyond mere talent discovery toward empowerment and development.

Intensive program to support Moroccan projects

The current edition of the initiative runs from September 26 to 30 and will bring together twelve film industry professionals. In its first phase, the program targets five Moroccan projects in development, with a promise of twelve months of continuous accompaniment and follow-up to ensure these works are brought to life with high professional standards.

A vision focused on building professional bridges

In this context, Tarik Boughara, director of the “Amanar” program, stated that young filmmakers in Morocco do not lack talent; rather, their true challenge lies in the lack of professional bridges and networks that contribute to developing their career paths. This approach reflects the platform’s desire to bridge the gap between individual creativity and the wider film production market.
