Mounir Laymouri’s travel and clarifications from the Tanger City Council President regarding security investigations

Mounir Laymouri, President of the Tanger City Council, has broken his silence to provide official clarifications regarding his recent trip to Spain, categorically denying that the travel is in any way linked to the ongoing investigations into the incident at the Al-Qods School polling station.
Circumstances and reasons for the trip to Spain
In statements to the media, Laymouri explained that his trip was scheduled well in advance for purely professional reasons, noting that his presence in Spain was required to attend an official meeting scheduled for Friday at 8:00 AM.
He added that he had planned to leave Tanger on Thursday evening on the last ferry, but the change in daylight saving time in Morocco prevented him from making it, forcing him to travel at night toward the occupied city of Ceuta and cross into Spain from there.
Presence of family and expected return
Regarding the rumors about the presence of his children, Mounir Laymouri confirmed that this was pre-planned, as his family is accustomed to spending the weekend there, with arrangements already made for their return on Sunday.
He noted that he had initially planned to return to Morocco next Thursday, but decided to move his return date to Monday following false reports linking his trip to judicial investigations, emphasizing that he will return to Tanger specifically to provide his statement to the competent authorities.
Surprise over rumors of escape
The Tanger City Council President expressed his deep surprise at attempts by some parties to portray his routine trip to Spain as an attempt to evade justice, questioning the logic behind promoting such claims given the existence of strong judicial cooperation agreements between Morocco and Spain.
Laymouri concluded by reiterating that he has no connection to the events being investigated by the relevant authorities, reaffirming that his upcoming return is intended to clarify all circumstances of the case and set the record straight for public opinion and judicial authorities.
