Priest killed and four injured in terrifying attack at Polish monastery

Official authorities in Poland have announced the death of a priest and injuries to four others following a knife attack that took place on Thursday morning on the grounds of a Catholic monastery in the southeastern city of Jarosław.
The Polish police reported that they have arrested a 31-year-old Ukrainian national in connection with the stabbing, noting that investigations are ongoing to determine the motives behind the crime.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki expressed his shock over the attack, asserting that it requires a firm response from the state, while Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the perpetrator would be punished with the full extent of Polish law.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his dismay at the incident, demanding that the perpetrator be held fully accountable under the law and affirming his country’s expectation of a swift and thorough investigation into all circumstances.
