International security coordination leads to the arrest of a suspect wanted by French justice in Mohammedia
As part of strengthening international security cooperation and pursuing perpetrators of cross-border crimes, elements of the judicial police in Mohammedia successfully arrested a 37-year-old Algerian citizen holding French nationality on Thursday, September 17.
Details of the arrest and charges
Security sources stated that the arrest was carried out in execution of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect was on the list of internationally wanted persons due to his suspected involvement in criminal networks engaged in the illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Legal procedures
Based on these findings, the suspect was presented to the competent public prosecutor’s office, which initiated the necessary legal measures required for international extradition. In the same context, the ‘Interpol Rabat’ office, affiliated with the General Directorate for National Security, was tasked with notifying its counterparts in Paris of the arrest to ensure the completion of judicial proceedings between the two countries.
This security intervention confirms the commitment of the General Directorate for National Security to active cooperation with various international security and police agencies, aiming to curb cross-border crime and ensure that those wanted by justice are held accountable.
