Warning for Agadir-Marrakech Highway Users Amid Severe Heatwave

Call for Vigilance on Heat-Affected Routes
The Moroccan National Highway Company (ADM) has issued an urgent appeal to highway users, particularly on the vital route connecting Agadir and Marrakech, to exercise increased vigilance and caution due to the extreme heatwave currently affecting several regions of the Kingdom.
Essential Preventive Measures Before Departure
As part of its efforts to ensure travel safety, the company advises drivers to check traffic conditions in advance before beginning any trip. It also emphasized the importance of verifying the mechanical readiness of vehicles, focusing specifically on checking tire conditions, coolant levels, and engine oil—measures experts deem essential to avoid sudden breakdowns that could be exacerbated by high temperatures.
Safety Tips for Driving During Heatwaves
In its statement, the company urged strict adherence to road safety rules and advised drivers to avoid driving while fatigued. It also highlighted the importance of taking sufficient rest breaks and ensuring proper hydration by drinking enough water during long trips, especially in light of weather warnings predicting extreme temperature spikes in wide areas, including Marrakech, Taroudant, and the connecting axes.
