Suspect caught red-handed for theft at “Marjane” parking lot in Marrakech
Police officers from the 16th district of “Saada” in Marrakech successfully arrested an individual late Monday night for his involvement in a series of thefts targeting citizens’ vehicles parked at the “Marjane” commercial center on Casablanca Road.
Details of the security intervention
According to available reports, the arrest was made after the suspect was caught attempting to steal money and a laptop from inside a parked car. The vigilance of the vehicle’s owner and a group of citizens played a pivotal role in cornering the thief until the police arrived to perform the necessary legal procedures.
Investigation revelations: Stolen items point to widespread criminal activity
Following the arrest, officers from the 16th district conducted initial searches which yielded surprising results; the suspect was found in possession of checkbooks and identification documents belonging to other victims. Security forces also successfully recovered two additional laptops that the suspect had hidden within the parking lot following previous thefts.
Transfer to the judicial police
The suspect has been referred to the judicial police for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. This investigation aims to uncover all potential connections to these criminal acts and identify all victims before the suspect is presented to the court to face the charges against him.
