New Moroccan-Liberian Partnership in the Military Field

Strengthening military coordination within the framework of the royal vision for South-South cooperation
As part of the national strategy pursued by the Kingdom of Morocco to strengthen its relations with African sister nations, high-level military officials from Morocco and Liberia held discussions aimed at outlining a new defense cooperation between the two countries. This move comes in implementation of Royal Instructions, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to sharing its expertise and field experiences with the Liberian Armed Forces.
Technical discussions focused on military training
Discussions between both sides focused primarily on ways to develop military training programs and enhance the human capacity within the Liberian military institution. Leveraging its extensive experience and sophisticated training centers, Morocco seeks to provide comprehensive technical support to Monrovia, particularly in specialized training and joint exercises that contribute to boosting combat and logistical capabilities.
Transferring Moroccan expertise to support regional security
This initiative falls within a broader context aimed at empowering African armies to address the growing security challenges on the continent. Both parties emphasized the importance of exchanging military knowledge and opening new horizons for continuous training to serve regional stability and strengthen the strategic partnership between Rabat and Monrovia. This military cooperation is an additional building block in the edifice of Moroccan diplomacy, which places South-South cooperation at the heart of its political and security priorities.
Expectations for a new phase of strategic partnership
The coming period is expected to see these discussions translated into concrete field actions, including the dispatch of training missions and the exchange of expertise in Moroccan military schools, thereby solidifying Morocco’s position as a reliable partner contributing effectively to the enhancement of collective African security based on a wise royal vision aimed at building a safe and stable African continent.
