Seven New Security Appointments to Positions of Responsibility in the Kingdom

As part of its strategy to modernize security structures and implement the principle of rotation of responsibilities, the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) announced, this Wednesday morning, a package of new security appointments involving seven prominent officials in high-level leadership positions, both at the central and regional levels.

Leadership Restructuring Covering Tangier and the Central Directorate

This movement has resulted in a fundamental change at the top of the security hierarchy; the former prefect of police in Tangier has been appointed Director of Public Security at the DGSN, a position that serves as a cornerstone in managing public order. In the same context, trust was placed in the deputy prefect of police in Tangier, who was promoted to Acting Prefect of Police of Tangier, ensuring the continuity of security operations in the city of the Strait.

Regional Appointments to Enhance Field Efficiency

The changes were not limited to the central level but extended to sensitive territorial responsibilities; new security officials were appointed to oversee Regional Security in Al Hoceima and Provincial Security in Safi, in addition to appointing a deputy head of provincial security in Salé. Furthermore, the provincial security zones in Berkane and Saïdia saw the appointment of new chiefs, as part of efforts to strengthen field monitoring and develop performance in these vital regions.

Betting on the New Generation of Talent

This move is part of the commitment of Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, to provide opportunities for young security talents of the new generation who have proven their administrative and operational management capabilities. These changes aim to inject new blood into the security institution, in line with the requirements of this stage and the aspirations of the citizens, to ensure the improvement of security services and strengthen closeness to the issues and concerns of citizens across the Kingdom.
