5,000 Dirhams for Marriage: Details of the Istiqlal Party’s Election Program

A Strategic Vision Under the Slogan “My Country, My Future”

In a proactive move ahead of the upcoming elections, the Istiqlal Party has unveiled its electoral program for the period 2026-2031. Under the slogan “My country, my future,” the program aims to forge a new social contract with the Moroccan people, centered on human dignity, social equity, and strengthening the state’s resilience against current economic and geopolitical challenges.

Five Major Pillars and a Youth Commitment

The program is built on five strategic axes: family and values, fighting corruption and rent-seeking behavior, supporting purchasing power and the middle class, improving public services, and ensuring strategic sovereignty. To ensure the participation of younger generations, the party added a “Youth Pact” as a sixth core pillar.

Family at the Heart of Priorities: Financial Support and Digital Protection

The Istiqlal Party places significant emphasis on family cohesion, proposing financial support of 5,000 dirhams for young people preparing for marriage, alongside a “family startup grant” to facilitate housing. Regarding child protection, the program includes measures such as banning access to social media platforms for children under 15 and prohibiting smartphones in primary schools, while introducing shared parental leave.

Combating “Rent-Seeking” and Conflicts of Interest

On transparency, the party pledges strict laws to end conflicts of interest and to empower the Court of Auditors to monitor asset declarations and track illicit enrichment. It also proposes a 40% tax on economic activities benefiting from monopolistic positions, alongside full digitalization of administrative procedures based on the “silence means approval” principle.

Supporting Purchasing Power and the Middle Class

To secure living standards, the program suggests a national mechanism to monitor profit margins on basic goods and a gradual increase in the minimum wage and pensions. A “social contract to escape poverty” links financial support to family commitments regarding children’s education and health monitoring.

Reform of Public Services

In the health sector, the party proposes establishing a National Emergency Agency to organize triage protocols and training 2,000 emergency physicians by 2031. It also emphasizes the necessity of implementing a “referral doctor” system and ensuring high-quality, universal pre-primary education.
