One ton of drugs seized in an abandoned house on the outskirts of Chtouka

Qualitative operation hits a drug storage network in Chtouka
As part of its ongoing efforts to dry up the sources of drug trafficking, the Royal Gendarmerie of the territorial center of Belfaa, in the Chtouka Aït Baha province, dealt a severe blow to smuggling networks last Thursday by successfully seizing a massive quantity of contraband.
Details of the security raid in “Douar Telkaid”
Available data indicates that the operation was the result of precise intelligence and intensive field investigations. These led the Gendarmerie to monitor an abandoned house in “Douar Telkaid,” in the commune of Inchaden, which was being used as a cover to store large quantities of cannabis.
Record quantity and ongoing judicial investigation
A thorough search of the house resulted in the seizure of over one ton of cannabis stalks, which were prepared for distribution or smuggling. The competent Gendarmerie services, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have launched extensive technical and field investigations aimed at identifying the individuals involved, uncovering the network’s links, its supply routes, and its intended final destination.
This security measure is part of the proactive plan adopted by the Royal Gendarmerie in the region to strengthen public safety and combat all forms of criminal activities linked to drug smuggling and storage, especially in rural areas where traffickers may attempt to exploit the terrain or abandoned houses for their illegal activities.
