The truth about “Jabrout”: The General Directorate for National Security clarifies

Categorical denial of breaches into Moroccan security information systems

In an effort to end the controversy surrounding allegations of digital leaks, the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) issued a stern official statement, categorically denying any breach of their information systems or security databases. The institution emphasized that its digital infrastructure is protected according to the highest cybersecurity standards, stressing that security systems are never connected to open networks or the Internet, making the hypothesis of a technical hack impossible.

The real source of the data: insurance companies and social institutions

In a detailed clarification regarding the nature of the data circulating, the security agency revealed that the published personal information was not leaked from its databases, but rather consists of old data from external sources, specifically insurance companies and social and health coverage organizations. The statement clarified that these parties are the actual source of that information, not the information systems belonging to National Security or the DGST.

Combating fabrication and misinformation: fake photos and documents

The security agency also warned against a systematic misinformation campaign relying on manipulated photographs and forged documents attributed to security personnel. The clarification noted that these documents lack any credibility, as they contain glaring errors such as the use of uniforms and military ranks that do not exist within the Moroccan security apparatus, as well as linguistic errors and questionable visual identities that expose their falsehood to any observer.

Legal prosecution of those involved

Concluding its statement, the security institution emphasized that investigations are ongoing under the direct instructions of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office. It vowed to apprehend and prosecute anyone proven to be involved in the fabrication, preparation, or dissemination of these false contents, which are intended to undermine the image of the Moroccan security services and incite confusion among the public.
