Marrakech court sentences influencer “Soukaina Glamour” to prison and bans her digital activities for three years

Judicial developments in the case of influencer Soukaina Glamour in Marrakech

The Court of First Instance in Marrakech issued a notable ruling this Monday against the influencer known as “Soukaina Glamour,” sentencing her to ten months of effective imprisonment, in addition to a fine of 500 dirhams, following charges related to public indecency.

Unprecedented additional penalty: Social media ban

In addition to the prison sentence, the verdict includes an additional ruling that prohibits the individual from using all social media platforms for three full years. This judicial measure means a total restriction of her digital presence, banning her from appearing or communicating via the virtual space, effectively shutting the door on any of her activities on social media platforms.

Background of the case and legal proceedings

The case dates back to the end of last week, when the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Marrakech decided on Saturday to detain the individual and refer her to immediate trial. This decision came after a live broadcast by the influencer sparked widespread controversy, in which she appeared in positions considered “contrary to public decency” while promoting lingerie.

This action prompted security services in Marrakech to open a precise judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, before she was presented to the justice system, which issued its initial verdict in the case, pending the outcome of subsequent litigation stages should the judgment be appealed.
