The Crises of the Algerian Citizen Continue: The Paradox of Gas Wealth and Total Darkness Amidst Official Media Consumption of the “Makhzen” Slogan

The contradiction between media discourse and living reality in Algeria
While the Algerian regime and its media arms continue to repeat hollow slogans and direct attention outward, specifically toward Morocco by attacking its historical institutions, the Algerian citizen lives under the weight of stifling social and economic crises. While the official media apparatus promotes illusions about the state’s regional superiority, the Algerian people are struggling in total darkness and a severe lack of the most basic essential services.
Immense wealth and homes in darkness
The great paradox asserts itself strongly; Algeria is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of natural gas, yet a large segment of Algerians suffers from recurring power outages and the absence of stable electrical coverage in many regions—a scene reflecting poor management and weak infrastructure, in addition to deteriorating purchasing power and rising prices.
Distracting public opinion with empty politics
Analysts and observers of Maghreb affairs confirm that the Algerian state-directed media’s resort to reiterating daily provocative speeches against the western neighbor, using stereotypical terms like “Makhzen,” is nothing more than a desperate attempt to export internal crises and distract the citizen from their bitter reality. The Algerian people, who aspire to development and social justice, have become aware that consuming resonant slogans will not light their dark homes, nor will it provide them with bread or solve their escalating daily crises.
