Gulf States’ firm position at the UN confirms Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces and praises the autonomy initiative

Unwavering Gulf support for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity
In a new diplomatic stance reflecting the depth and strength of fraternal relations, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait have reiterated their firm support for Morocco‘s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This came during the meetings of the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Autonomy as the basis for a political solution
The four Gulf countries affirmed before the members of the UN committee their explicit support for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, considering it the optimal basis for reaching a final political solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue. These countries pointed out that the Moroccan proposal is fully in line with the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law.
In harmony with international legitimacy
This renewed Gulf position reaffirms the Arab and international consensus on the viability of the Moroccan proposal. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the other brotherly states stressed that the autonomy initiative provides the sound and practical framework to close the chapter on this artificial conflict, serving the stability and development of the North Africa and Middle East region.
