Royal Gendarmerie in Beni Drar thwarts international drug smuggling operation and seizes advanced drones at Oujda border

As part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie to combat cross-border crime, elements from the Beni Drar center near Oujda successfully thwarted an international drug smuggling operation and the transport of suspicious equipment along the border strip on Thursday evening.
According to field data, this precise security operation resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis resin, along with four drones, believed to have been used for surveillance and coordination of illegal cross-border smuggling activities.
Interventions in the same context led to the arrest of two individuals suspected of direct involvement with a criminal network active in the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances in the Oujda border region.
This operation reflects the constant vigilance maintained by the Royal Gendarmerie across various territorial and border posts to counter all forms of organized crime. The suspects have been placed under judicial investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor, to uncover all potential national and international connections of this criminal network.
