According to available reports, the opening ceremony of this major African sporting event was attended by the Moroccan official alongside prominent figures in the continental and global football scene, including the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Janira Hopffer Almada, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, and CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
