The criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal in Fez began the trial on Thursday of a woman accused of inflicting fatal wounds on her husband with a bladed weapon, following intense disputes over the deceased’s desire for polygamy.

According to available reports, investigations by the judicial police in Fez revealed that the suspect was responsible for the crime, after she retracted her initial claims that the victim had been attacked by unknown individuals.

Detailed confessions regarding the crime

During investigations, the accused admitted to stabbing her husband in the chest and abdomen while he was asleep in an intoxicated state. She confirmed that no one else, including her children, participated in the assault, and led investigators to the location where she had disposed of the weapon in the Al-Musalla district.

Based on these confessions, the Public Prosecution ordered the accused to be remanded in custody. Her minor son was released, the other children were handed over to relatives, and the accused was transferred to the Bourkaiz local prison.

In the same context, police questioned the woman whom the deceased intended to marry. She confirmed that the couple had visited her together to discuss the marriage proposal, denying any illicit relationship with the victim.
