Decisive security intervention by the Royal Gendarmerie in Taroudant
As part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie to combat various forms of crime, the judicial center units in Taroudant successfully arrested an individual on Tuesday morning suspected of involvement in illegal drug trafficking.
This field operation targeted the Oulad Arfa area, under the territorial jurisdiction of Sidi Dahman in the Taroudant province, yielding positive results in curbing the distribution networks of illicit substances.
Seizure of 20 kilograms of cannabis and motorcycles
According to available information, these interventions were based on precise intelligence provided by gendarmerie services regarding the movements of wanted individuals suspected of ties to criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking and hallucinogenic pills, as well as their potential involvement in illegal activities related to the distillation of illicit alcohol.
Following this intelligence, Royal Gendarmerie officers carried out a thorough legal search of a house in the area, which led to the seizure of approximately 20 kilograms of cannabis intended for distribution.
Deepening the investigation to uncover further accomplices
The search operations extended to a motorcycle repair shop owned by the suspect, resulting in the seizure of several motorcycles believed to have been used in the transport and distribution of drugs.
The suspect has been placed under police custody pending the judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at deepening the inquiry to reveal all potential links to this criminal activity and identifying other suspected accomplices.
